Who Am I, And Why Am I Here?

Who Am I

One of the most important questions that we must ask ourselves … Who Am I, and Why Am I Here? The unfortunate truth is that most people live their entire lives, and never connect with their true identity or God-given purpose. God spoke to Jeremiah and said, “Before you were conceived in your mother’s womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I marked you, and set you aside for a special purpose. I have already appointed you as a voice to nations.”

First, every one of us struggle with identity on some level. We grow up carrying the impressions that are placed on us by other people’s opinions, perceptions, and expectations. We are driven to perform in order to gain someone’s approval. Our image of ourselves is often times shaped by our models, experiences, and the things we assimilate as go through life. Our belief about our own value and worth is often times diminished as we work hard to measure up to pseudo success models and systems presented to us by culture. We must receive a revelation of WHO WE REALY ARE. Who does God say I am? When He formed me, what did He see in me? What does He say I can be? This is our quest, to understand and to become the person He created us to be.

Also, I believe that each of us are carrying a unique and specific grace for a unique and specific assignment in life. We are not here to bide time, do what everyone else is doing, go to work, come home, and get up the next day to do it all over again. Crafted within our very DNA are the characteristics, components, and abilities that empower us to accomplish our life’s work. Hidden behind the clutter in our minds and hearts is GREATNESS and SIGNIFICANCE. There is a REASON you are alive in this era. There is a WHY just waiting to be discovered.

In this presentation, I share a compelling thesis that, in order for you and I to maximize our God-given potential, we must first discover who we are, and why we are here. We must be intentional and diligent to process through our present reality and uncover the TRUTH that God knows about us. We present a specific process to help you answer (with conviction) the question … Who Am I, and Why Am I Here?

Presentation Outline

Who Am I
1. Identity Crisis. Many people live under what I call, ‘Imposed Identities’. Our first task is to peel back the curtain and uncover the lies, misconceptions, and limiting beliefs that cause us to SEE ourselves in a way other than how God sees us. Specifically, we walk through a process that will reveal areas where the self image is not aligned with God’s image of me.

2. Taking Inventory. In this section, we explore the specific characteristics and assets that is already present within. Things like; personality traits, skill sets, talents, passions, dreams, and desires. These point to purpose. God wires us with innate gifts and abilities, and packages these elements in a way that make us the perfect prospect for pursuing His destiny for our lives. You are MADE for purpose, and your are already equipped for it.

3. Discovering Your ‘Why’. So many people graduate from university, go into the workforce, and never connect with the ‘WHY” for which they were created. Our ultimate objective in this training is to help each person embrace their true identity, discover who they are, and become engaged in the process of BECOMING that person. At the end of this presentation,  the student will have a written WHY STATEMENT that clearly points then in the direction of purpose and destiny.
